“You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanks giving to God” 2 Corinthians 9:11

For years, we have been dreaming of upgrading to a larger and more modern facility, and finally, with God’s grace and provision, in January, our dreams came true! As the children finished their mid-year exams and embarked on their mid-term holiday, we seized the opportunity to transition from our old location in Al-Haram to our new space in Ahmed Orabi in El Obour. Our new building spread across a ground floor and a first floor, located within an 8-acre farm. We could not be more thrilled about this exciting move!

Christmas Time

The Child’s Friend House celebrated Christmas. We had hymns, explained the story of Jesus, and had fun competitions. We gave the children new clothes, shoes, a meal, and money for toys. They spent Christmas with families from our churches.

Renovation Time

We prepared the building for the children by dividing and finishing it. The ground floor has rooms for administration, studying, meetings, and counseling, along with bathrooms and a multi-purpose hall. The first floor has bedrooms with attached bathrooms. We installed solar panels for hot water and created a laundry room on the roof. We also made a terrace and a soccer court for the children’s enjoyment.

We still have a long way of building and renovation ahead.

Activities

In March some of our children participated in a bazaar organized byRamses British College School, and they participated in making handmade products that were sold in the bazaar. Participation of children in such activities generates self-confidence in them and acquires good communication skills with the surrounding community.

Children of the day use program celebrated Mother’s Day.Mothers were invited and the children presented songs and gifts to their moms.Children and mothers spent quality time together in an atmosphere of love and fun. We provided a meal for all attendees.

Beginning March 30th and continuing throughout the year, eight children aged 13-16 will engage in a mental health program organized by the EvangelicalChurch in Heliopolis. Concurrently, supervisors overseeing the children will participate in a psycho educational program covering topics like adolescent characteristics and problem-solving strategies. These sessions will occur onthe last Saturday of each month until the year’s end.

Pray with Us

Pray for a 24-passenger bus for children’s transportation with a trustworthy driver.

Pray for each child, for their spiritual, emotional, and physical needs to be met by the Lord, and for their hearts to be prepared to accept the Lord into their lives.

Pray for divine guidance to find a better school than the current one, as it lacks in academic, social, and moral standards.

Pray for the Lord to provide faithful workers for cleaning.

Pray for strength from the Lord to care for the five children who require circumcision surgeries post-operation.

The current facility accommodates 30 beds, and our vision is to build a children’s shelter capable of housing over 100 homeless children. We have already paid the fees for obtaining a building permit to obtain preliminary approval, and we will provide more details about the second phase plan very soon.

Pray for the Lord to provide enough finances for us to begin the second phase of construction immediately upon obtaining the building permit.
